Simply put, the perfect watch. Jul 15, 2006
By R. Swarts This is the second Citizen Aqualand I have owned, the first having been stolen after 16 years of hard use and I am very satisfied with the new 2050 as a replacement.
While not as feature-rich as some watches, it has refinements that elevate it above most sport watches. A rotating bezel and 125ft depth display (accurate +/-2 ft in my experience) are helpful to divers, while a 50-minute chronograph offers timing functions for navigation or sports. The stainless steel case & band also dresses the 2050 above the standard sport watch with their black plastic bands.
A screw-down crown and screw-back case ensure a long life in and out of the water. Citizen's eco-drive system also means that you will likely never need to buy batteries. I have found that simply wearing the watch normally on a sunny day or under the fluorescent lights of the office is sufficient to keep the charge up.
I have always worn Citizen watches and feel that their quality, accuracy, features, and style are well balanced by fair prices when compared to trendier brands such as Tag Heuer or Omega. I highly recommend this one.

What a great long lasting watch! Jun 13, 2006

OK, I've owned this watch for about 5 years and didn't think anything about it. Oh, I thought it was a great looking watch and I love wearing it but still, it was just a good looking watch. Then I really thought about it... I've owned this watch (one of about 10) for 5 years and haven't had to do anything to it! I've never done anything but put the watch on and receive compliments. I've never had to bring the watch in for service to change the battery because the battery never needs to be changed. I've never even had to replace the band. At times I've not worn the watch for a good month or so and it's still keeping time. One good day in the sun and the battery is back to a full charge. HOW COOL!
I'm 6' and 177lbs. If the size and weight of a watch really matters to you then this may not be a watch for you. This watch is a little large and a touch heavy for most people. Personally, I don't mind the size and I don't notice the weight.
This watch even has a built in battery level indicator. For the most part it's read for me that the battery level is either (LV1) a very sufficient charge or (LV2) a full charge. Only once in five years have I ever seen the level indicator read (NG) needs charging. Still, it was keeping time.
Only people that own this watch will understand what I'm about to say. When you put this watch on you really feel that you are wearing a watch that is so indestructible that all other watches cower in its presence. This watch is not only well built, but it's built to last. Oh yea, it has a depth gauge and it's a really accurate gauge. I don't dive but I'm in the water A LOT so I know the gauge is working accurately. If I had to choose one and only one watch from my collection that I had to wear for the rest of my life this is one of two I would have to decide from. The other is also a Citizen.
Citizen makes a great watch. Most of my watches are Citizen's so yes, I do have a biased opinion. So what! I've owned them for many, many years and they continue to work. I love this watch!
