You get what you pay for Nov 05, 2008
By Anthony W. Agee This is a very handsome watch that is offered for a very reasonable price. The build quality is excellent - this watch feels like a tank and it keeps time fairly well, although mine tended to run a little fast (a few minutes a month).
However, this timepiece is made in Malaysia. And so I was not really surprised at all when my watch started to run faster and faster until it was basically worthless. It now currently runs about 20 minutes fast every hour!
I am a big fan of Japanese automatics and I thought Seiko would be able to deliver. Frankly, this is something I would expect out of a fake watch but not a genuine Seiko.

great diver's watch that will run forever Jan 16, 2006

This is an attractive diver's watch. The black face makes the hands and minute markers easy to read in any lighting conditions. The hands and minute markers glow in the dark, not just for minutes the way some watches do. They are radiant all night long.
The black rubber band is heavy duty and plenty long. It features two sliding strap holders to keep the band from flapping or being able to come undone, and the tip of the band has a slightly raised service to further insure that it never comes undone accidentally.
The watch is self-charging from any and all light sources. My watch started running immediately when it was exposed to light and quickly gained enough of a charge so that I've never had to worry about it at all. If the internal battery ever does run low the second hand moves in two second increments to warn you to expose the watch to light. The only time I've ever seen that behavior was for the first several minutes after taking the watch out of the box. Seiko sys it will run for a few days at least without any exposure to light.
The only thing that kept me from giving the watch a five is that it is not lightweight. You definitely know you have something on your wrist. But is is a nice something.
